I started my medical career at Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau, Civil Hospital Karachi, where I was introduced to the most complicated pathology in an underserved environment. Research and clinical electives in Singapore and US exposed me to the art of evidence-based learning. My enthusiasm to bridge the gap in the healthcare system worldwide landed me a residency in Michigan. Excellent mentors eventually lead me to my true calling - Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Interventional pulmonology struck me as an extension of Pulmonary Medicine where I was able to go the extra step to change the life of my patients who had lost all hope. The faculty at UCMC is a perfect mix of approachable and innovative personalities allowing me to spread my wings in this upcoming field. I have a particular passion for advancement of women in the field of Interventional Pulmonology.

I hail from the biggest metropolitan port city of Pakistan, Karachi, which has a diverse culinary scene. My husband and I are keeping that trend alive by exploring varied cuisines across the United States and are excited to explore the food in Cincinnati. Reviving my high school sportswomanship, I have recently learnt swimming and moving on to tennis next. Lastly, I love chai (Pakistani tea) so much that it needed a mention in my bio.
